Summer is a great time for barbecue and Northern Ohio is the place to be for awesome ribs! The 31st Annual Northwest Ohio Rib-Off, presented by The Blade, will
take place August 7, 8, 9 and 10, 2014 at the Lucas County Fairgrounds
in Maumee. The long-enduring contest brings BBQ chefs from all over the USA as well as local people. The Fairgrounds will be packed with cookers, smokers and grills, as enticing smoke fills the air! All of the competitors will be trying for the coveted People’s Choice Award and Best In Northwest Ohio.
Along with the wonderful barbecue, there are big acts coming in concert, such as American funk band, War; on Thursday night, Ohio native, rock legend Ted Nugent on Friday; and for Saturday evening, Dennis DeYoung featuring The Music of Styx. Tickets are very reasonable, from $10 at the door to $22.50 for VIP seating.
Hours for the Rib-Off are Thursday, August 7, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Friday, August 8, noon to 11 p.m.; Saturday, August 9, noon to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, August 10, noon to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday admission is free until 3:00 pm. Sunday admission is free all day, and is sponsored by Cedar Creek Church, which will also provide the music for the day.
