Huron River Fest – Huron, Ohio – July 8 – 10, 2016

It’s the 25th Anniversary of the Huron River Fest and it is bigger than ever! This yearly event takes place at the Huron Boat Basin, at 417 Main St in Huron, OH. The 3-day extravaganza combines all the fun of a typical carnival-type festival with water, making it the perfect mid-summer family affair.

A big attraction is the Boat Decorating Contest – this year’s theme is “American Pride”. Judging will take place Friday night by the Huron River Queen and her court at the boat basin. All watercraft are encouraged to register and light up the summer night in red, white and blue!

Speaking of the Queen, the competition and crowing of the Queen and Junior Queen will be on Friday at 6pm. After the competition, the Boat Contest awards and some live music, there will be fireworks over the water at 10:15pm.

Most of the action takes place at the boat basin, but some of the events
are in different spots, like “The Road Show” car show on Saturday, you
will find that at First Presbyterian Church. The 5K and Fun Run start at
the corner of Williams Street & Cleveland Road on Saturday at
8:30am – a good way to beat the heat. Just after the runs, the Lion’s
Club Parade will start at 11am at the corner of Jim Campbell Drive and
Cleveland Road, and run past the River Fest Midway to its end at Huron
High School.

Sunday is Family Fun Day with the understandably popular Pets on the Pier pet contest. There will be awards for Best Costume, Best Trick, Best Obedience and Best Pet & Owner Look Alike. The Midway opens at 11am, then enjoy the Huron High School Band and Cheerleaders, Christian Cloggers and Live Music.

Angel Welcome Bed and Breakfast is your perfect home base for the festival, as we are a quick 12 minute drive right to Huron!
