A new event for 2018 is the Boy with the Boot Bicen10K and Family Relay.

The big event for the summer is the Festival of Sail, July 12-15 at the Jackson Street Pier in Sandusky. For 4 days, the harbor is host to Tall Ships and a special visitor – Mama Duck, the 6-story tall World’s Largest Inflatable Duck! Mama Duck will float amongst the visiting ships, as long as the weather cooperates. As of this writing, four ships are scheduled to make an appearence, including the U.S Brig Niagara, a reconstruction of one of the ships that helped American forces to win the Battle of Niagara in the War of 1812. Visitors can purchase tickets to view the ships from the pier, board and tour the ships, or even take a 90 minute sail! If you attend on the12th, you can see the Parade of Sail, in which the ships sail along the harbor.
