2020 – oh boy! None of us could have seen what was coming for us this year – we were all just ready to enjoy a new year when the crushing news of virus and shutdown hit. We’ve been good – we’ve worn our masks, cleaned our hearts out and followed all the guidelines, and now we’re ready to have some holiday fun!
We’ve got a nice little list of fun things to do on a getaway to Northern Ohio, besides just relaxing with your sweetie or your girlfriends on a pre-holiday getaway!
November 6-15, 2020, 10am-5pm: Naturally Country, a wonderful 5000 square foot home decor shop, in nearby Norwalk, OH, is presenting their annual Christmas Open House. You’ll enjoy “Fun, Festive and Fabulous Shopping!” along with refreshments, drawings, gift cards, and so much more! The store offers delivery, many items for DIYers, and gorgeous displays of home decorating accents and custom designed florals. What a great stop on a girlfriends’ shopping trip, combined with a stay at our B&B and those DELICIOUS breakfasts!
November 28, 2020: Many of our area towns will be ready for Shop Small Saturday, a special day set aside for shoppers to patronize small area businesses and get that holiday shopping in gear! In Vermilion, Main Street is the headquarters for the day – visit between 10am-4pm to get a sweet swag bag of fun themed items (while supplies last). Many merchants offer discounts and savings on this special Saturday.
November 28-29, and December 5 & 6, 2020, 12-5pm: Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum at the 6th Annual Holiday Train Ride – just a fun way to take you back to the child-like wonder of Christmas, for only $5! Take a 10-minute ride on the restored Caboose, then enjoy cookies & cocoa in the 1927 Nickel Plate Road Diner. You might even get a glimpse of that jolly old Saint Nicholas!
