Ah! The dog days of summer will soon be coming to a close, and the Autumn lovers will start to get their sweaters and boots ready for fun events in October! We’ve got a list of five fun things to do when you stay with us at Angel Welcome Bed & Breakfast – a perfect Autumn Getaway!
Shake, Rattle & Stroll
All month long, Downtown Vermilion will be overtaken by grinning ghouls! Local shops and businesses “adopt” skeletons and turn those naked bags of bones into shopkeepers, dog washers, dentists, lumberjacks and more! It’s a ton of skele-fun to stroll through Downtown while you shop and dine!

The “Original” Erie County Craft and Vendor Show
Taking place at the Sandusky Mall Complex, the show features 100-plus vendors selling home decor, beauty and self-care products, quilts, jewelry, clothing, and of course, holiday decorations, as well as a raffle!

Erie County Fair Craft Show/Farmers Market
Not to be confused with the “Original” Erie County Craft Fair, this 2-day event will not only have wonderful craft vendors, but also a Farmers Market and food vendors. Bring your appetite, re-usable bags and spendin’ cash for a day of fun at the Fair!
When: October 2-3, 2021, 10am – 4pm

Woollybear Festival
The Woollybear Festival is Ohio’s largest one-day festival, and with number 49 it keeps growing! Celebrating the return of the woollybear caterpillars and Autumn, the festival has something for everyone – an amazing tow-hour parade, a festival with the Woollybear 500 caterpillar races, Woollybear Animal Look-A-Like Contest, the Woollybear Queen and her Court, unique craft vendors, live music, and of course, FOOD! This is a fest for all ages!
When: October 10, 2021, parade starts at 1:30pm

Annual Chocolate and Wine Walk
Stroll through Downtown Vermilion (watch out for the boney folk!), sampling chocolate treats and/or wine at selected shops. Have shopkeepers sign your event map to be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing – and every $10+ purchase from participating businesses gets you more entries (save your receipts!!). Tickets are limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis, so get them as soon as you can!
